Looking for a Top Notch Doctor in the Boston Area for Stapendectormy
 

Hi All,
I'm brand new to the forum, but not to Stapes operations. I've had 3 Stapendectomies done on my right ear, going back 16 years for the original surgery. Then 1 revision surgery 5 years later and another 3 years after that. The prosthetic is not attached to my Maleus as the Doctor said that the incus had become spongy and wasn't usable for attaching the porsthetic. I now can tell that there's something going on the the ear again and want to get this taken care of for the last time. I also want a prosthetic that isn't made of metal so that I don't have to fear an MRI. Can anyone recommend a really good doctor in the greater Boston or New England area? Thanks, Tom

I don't have any names for you, but I suggest that you look for a "neurotologist" working at all the local medical school faculties (Departments of Head and Neck Surgeries). Also, call and ask local ENTs who they refer patients to for stapedectomies.
