| Hearing loss with background noise
Yesterday I was at a large family holiday party.I was talking to my sister-in-law in an adjacent room and the voices (normal tones) coming from the kitchen seemed to drowned out our conversation to the point I couldn't understand what she was saying. We moved into another quiet room and I could hear her perfectly. I am 64 and in very good health. It's happened before but not as obviously.
Any suggestions on what this is and how to resolve it would be appreciated.
Are there any hearing aids that filter out background noise?
