Hi. I've had Ossicular reconstruction twice, once in 1995, and again just yesterday (not fun!). The inner packing is normal. The popping sounds should stop, but can't say when, since it's been quite a while since my first. I had a tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy with OCR. The stitches in the back of my ear are quite painful. Thank goodness for Lortab. I would love to hear how your recovery is going since it has been so long since my last one, and because a different surgeon did this one. I wonder why my ear is still dripping blood from the inside. I hope that's normal. I hope to hear back from you.
