I have had crackling and whistling noises in my left ear for several weeks now and it comes with being stopped up and my ears being stopped up. I started with a virus and congestion in my chest and head and when I lay down on my left side I hear all this noise!
It finally got better and then I got the flu and again I have the noises and also vertigo.
I think your nausea is related to your eustachian tube being blocked which is what I think is wrong with me. The noises are unbelievable and if I didn't know it was stupid I'd think I had an insect in there playing a tune.
I do think going to the doctor is warranted.
