I was diagnosed with Otosclerosis in my eary thirties...although I always had Tinnitus since I was a kid. At work people would speak to me in soft whispers and it was like the mute button was on.
I had the surgery this year in January 2013. Mine was pretty successful but my low frequency range is not where the surgeon would like. I can hear now at work and sometimes I feel vibrations in my ear from sounds.
I wanted to post that I had a bad cold 6 months after surgery. Ever since this cold...everything is much louder...I don't what happend but it could have cleared my ears out. I still have ringing but it comes and goes and when I do have it...it is very slight.
I had the surgery at NY Eye and Ear Infirmary. I just want to communicate with people in my boat. Many do not understand the life changing stuff that comes with hearing loss.
