| Abnormal EKG temporary ???
I had underwent ACD with bone fusion and removal of portion of my cervical spine. As many neck patients with flattened spines had found out … it did affect my heart. I think that is because the nerves in the neck lean on the vagus nerve to the heart. Prior to my neck accident, my EKGs were perfectly normal and great.
I am wondering if I should submit to lengthy cardiolite tests or just wait until at least 1 year after neck surgery (when the bones fully fuse) to see if the heart straightens itself out. What was the experience of other people with their irregular hearts now post-operatively?
My EKG before surgery in May was slightly abnormal. Mainly I think arrhythmia from 69 to 100 beats. Also ST deviation. Also noted was PMI at the 5th ICS MCL.
On a normal note, it said that S1/S2 were normal.
It is now 6.5 months after surgery. My new EKG seemed a bit better but things weren’t explained well by the doctor.
If EKG problems were a result of ONLY the neck injury, wouldn’t it make sense that after the neck is fully fixed that the heart and the vagus nerve connection might solve itself?
