Anyone else blackout ? - Heart Disorders Message Board

Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone else has blacked out from pvc's. It happened to me for the third time the other day and I went to the ER. When I got there everything was fine, of course. It is really starting to scare me my body starts to tingle and my vision starts to tunnel. I am going back to my EP this week and I hope I get an answer but I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this. Should I worry?

Hi,

I too get PVC'S and only once have I had the tunnel vision and thought oh heck I am about to pass out, but didn,t, stopped it by bending over. But I have got quite lightheaded with them, not sure if thats real or anxiety. My cardio says that PVC'S cannot make you pass out, but an arythmia can.

Good luck getting to the bottom of it.

I have had 3 fainting episodes in the last couple weeks. I also have tachycardia and skipped beats. I saw a cardiologist a few months ago and after several ekgs, holter monitor tests, and an echo he assured me that my heart is fine. My PCP keeps having me wear a 24 hour holter hoping to catch one of my fainting spells, but it never happens when I'm wearing it.

It's definatly scary. Anymore, I'm scared to be home alone with the baby thinking I might pass out while I'm holding her.

I dont know if this helps any but my 12 yo daughter had the problem with blacking out. She has a condition called neurocardiogenic syncope. she is on Atenolol 25 mg. She had a tilt table test and passed out within 5 minutes, her pulse went from 113-50 in a matter of seonds and lost her bp. You might want to look into this. Also, she dehydrates very easy and this causes it to happen also. She also was encouraged to use salt.

I had pvc's for 5 years now, ever since I was pregnant with my daughter.
They made my life miserable. The panic attacks I had from them made me question going on with life. I have had all sorts of tests and I was told my heart is normal.
After a while, they got less and less and I stopped worrying. Every once in a while, I would have a big one. Maybe 3 strong ones in a row. But its been a while since a big one. Mine are usually the little ones.
Then last weekend, I'm at Home Depot with my husband, just standing there, and suddenly, my heart just started freaking out, maybe for just a few seconds!! I guess I had one of those 3 in-a-row ones. My body went hot all over and I felt a light headed.
It scared the heck out of me. I hadn't had one of those whoppers in a while, so I could feel the panic rising up in me.
The rest of the day I felt like crap.
I did realize that I had some stomach problems a couple of days before then and that morning, and that's usually when they like to act up.
I don't think I have ever "blacked out". I remember when I first started having them, I would sometimes see stars when they occured.

And these are normal, the dr's say?????
