It depends on what type of heart problem you have:
Arrythmias are best diagnosed with EKG
Valvular disease best diagnosed with echocardiogram
Ischemic burden of the heart - best diagnosed with a stress test
Degree of blockage of arteries - best diagnosed with an arteriogram
