After a million tests.....

Dear All,
I have read some of the threads on this site and it seems that a lot of people are having lots of problems, none that seem too closely related to mine. I have a LOT of heart skips. I have had this for about five years, I'm 19 yr-old male in good shape, I'm a little underweight at 125 pounds. In the last three months it has got considerably worse though. I have had almost every test I can think of e.g. two styles of heart monitors, two CAT-scans, ultra-sounds, blood pressure tests, blood work, etc. etc. When I was a child I fell down the stairs and injured my rib cage. The left side of my ribs are bent inward. I feel weak constantly, when my heart skips I get faint and dizzy as well as short breathed. I feel as though I will die at any moment. I'm going back to the doctors in the next week, but I'm not sure what good will come of it. After all the tests they have never found anything. But as the days go by I feel as I'm weaker and weaker. I feel on the brink of death all the time. I'm trying not to let it rule my life but it's so hard because it makes me vulnerable and scared. It has started happening at work and I feel as if the only thing I can do is rest all the time. And even when I relax I still have the problem. I was just wondering if anyone else was in a similar situation that found some answers to their problem.

Thank you all for any insight!

Re: After a million tests.....

i know how you feel man, that rib cage thing must have been painful, when i was ten, i was hit by a car =/

but my man, skipped beats can happen to anyone any time, some of us just have them more than others. I myself as well as many others here, have upwards of 10,000-18,000 skipped beats a day. There not really skipped beats tho, they are referred to as a PVC. So even tho you may think you have alot, your not alone. Go see a cardi, they will run more tests to see if theres anything underlying, then if they give you the all clear...well join the club!

I have already seen a cardiologist, but; I really don't want to join the club. There must be an answer!?

Re: After a million tests.....

Dave,

Try magnesium supplementation (250 or 500 mg of any Mg compound at all at the health Food store- they're all soluble).
You'll know in a week whether they do the trick...believe me, they CAN be AMAZING! Net loss if it doesn't work: aound $4 a hundred!

Re: After a million tests.....

I know how you feel. I often get little skips that I barely notice, yet sometimes(the past 2 weeks have been really bad), they feel really horrible. I don't mean just feeling out of sorts, I literally mean, it feels like your going to die. When mine are really bad, I feel extremely lightheaded and faint, and my chest hurts. I have had skipped beats(PVC's??) for 8 yrs now and they got so bad last week that I went to the E.R. Sometimes it feels like my heart is going to stop, and I was even having a hard time breathing.

So why are we feeling this way? I have no idea, they hooked me up to all the regular machines and there was nothing dangerous going on.

I keep meaning to try the magnesium, I really have heard a lot of great things about it. It may be the best place for you to start. Has your cardiologist mentioned medication to you? The last couple weeks I have been getting progressively weaker, I think it takes a toll on our bodies. Insist something be done, I go back to my card. in a couple weeks and plan to do the same. These may be 'normal' but for some reason we are not reacting normally to them.

Take care, hope you get some answers.

Abby
