anyone gotten pg on a beta blocker? - Heart Disorders Message Board

Have any of you gotten pg on a beta blocker?...we recently got a little shocker...found out we're pg...I'd been taking a beta blocker...
Have another ultrasound in a week to see if there's anything in the sac...has been linked with pregnancy reabsorption...in their animal studies...dont' have studies on humans...
Wondered if anyone else has been there?...

Hi, congrats!!
I have been on a beta blocker(Atenolol) for about 6 yrs. I was on it before, during and after my pregnancy. Everything went absolutely fine. I know the research is sometimes frightening but we have had a discussion about pregnancy and betas here on this board awhile back and no one reported any problems.

I of course can only speak for my own experience, I just wanted to let you know I had been there. One more thing, I did not breast feed, I thought nine months of exposure was enough for the little guy.

Thanks for letting me know am not alone...my ob took me off the beta blocker...all we saw wednesday on the us was an empty sac..so..naturally am scared to death...he seemed positive was just too early to see anything..but have had several pregnancy losses so am really paranoid...I go back this wed. for another us...
