I'm Puzzled - Can you help?

Well I am sure alot of you know what I went through last month with the PVC's, but they really stopped after I stopped my Period.. anyways my question is, and I am not complaining any.. but the PVC's only seem to happen when I go to bed, maybe a couple before I fall asleep and then I wake up, and I am fine all day.. but when it comes to after like 8 or 9pm at night, I could have a couple sitting on the couch resting, or when I lay in bed.. but if I rest at the computer during the afteroon or watch TV on the couch in the morning I am fine and don't have any till night time? How come? I never use to have a problem getting any of these going to bed before.. this just started a couple weeks ago..

the only thing I should mention is that I still have a little bit of acute bronchitis, I am all done the antibiotics, but still cough some, not much. Anyone else go through this just at night?

as you guys might know I take Toprol 50mg.. I am just curious as to why they happen when I go to bed, or relax on the couch at night.. it's not alot in a row, but a couple to make me questionable.

Thanks for all your help..

Everyone, man or beast, has a circadian rhythm, or internal clock, which has an effect on the functioning of their endocrine system. The endocrine system pumps hormones into the body, and these hormones can cause heart rhythm problems.

For instance, the Pineal gland becomes more active at night and starts pumping more melatonin, which helps with one's ability to sleep, but also has other effects.

For more info, research "circadian rhythm" or Pineal Gland.

It might have something to do with being supine. The whole hydraulics of the body is altered when lying lown after being erect all day.

Thanks for your response.. it's just weird, this never happened to me before 3 weeks ago.. I NEVER had a problem sitting on the couch at night watching movies and TV and relaxing.. maybe once in a great while I would get one at night or something. Last night, I came home, sat on the couch with my feet up to watch a little TV and about 15 min into resting I got a couple PVC's.. I got back up, sat at the computer and none.. I sat back down at the couch to watch more TV and I got 3 of them.. I went to bed and was fine.. I was really tired though.. but I mean we are talking about a night owl here, before all this happened 3 weeks ago, I could stay up till 4am and NEVER go through this.. I have always been a night owl.. I just don't understand why this happens at night when resting.. it's REALLY weird!

Welcome to the wonderful world of allergies.

Along with allergic reactions comes PVCs. When the endocrine system starts pumping hormones, in response to an allergen attack, it can effect how the heart beats. At night, the hormone levels are different because of everyone's circadian rhythm.

I had to get rid of both my wall to wall carpetting and my upholstered couch. I now use only leather-type recliners and couches, no upholstered furniture.

Allergies can be brought on after a bout with a virus, fungal or bacterial infection.
