I need advice..... - Heart Disorders Message Board

Hi all!
I need some serious advice. I have been having major upper back and shoulder pain that goes across my chest for the past 5 months. I have been told numerous times that it is tension and that it has nothing to do with my heart. Why can I not believe this??? I have terrible heart anxiety and I can not seem to let it go. Please offer me some advice. I am 32 and I constantly think that I am going to have a heart attack... I feel at times that I am wearing a lead blanket.....what can I do??? Does this at all sound heart related???? Thanks! Kaley

Have you been to a cardiologist with this complaint? If so, have you had any tests such as stress tests or nuclear stress tests?

Is the pain constant, or does it come on with exercise as angina does?

A little more information would be helpful.

The pain is constant.....I have no problem with exercise and I have been to 2 different Dr's that tell me that it is all muscle and nothing is wrong with my heart. They do not think that I need additional testing. I have had EKG'S and all have been perfect. My BP is usually about 116/64 and I have a pulse in the 70's. I have also been to the ER twice and have heard the same things...."Your heart is perfectly healthy!" I have terrible anxiety and I think all my symptoms are worse the more I think about them.
