Chest Pain

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me. Recently I have been having some pain in the same place of my chest. It is in the upper area just off to the right side. It usually only lasts a few minutes. Sometimes its a dull pain and other times its almost a burning feeling. Over the past 2 years I have had tests done on my heart that were brought on by my anxiety problems. Two years ago I had a stress test done and probably 6 EKG's during those 2 years. All were normal. I have had my anxiety under control recenlty and I remember from before if i did have chest pain it was never always in the same spot. I don't notice that it gets worse or shows up under certain situations. Sometimes it will be there with a little pain but get worse when I take a deep breath. Is this something I should have looked into further or am I just over reacting. Thanks for any advice!

Re: Chest Pain

The fact that it gets worse with deep breath tells me it's probably not heart related. It could possibly be inflammation in the chest wall. Of course chest pain should always be taken seriously and no you are not over reacting. I would wonder what your age and your risk factors are and go from there to decide whether more testing needs to be done.

Re: Chest Pain

I am 30 years old not overweight. Don't know of any family history with heart problems. Its weird, sometimes its a constant pain and sometimes it gets worse when I take a deep breath.

Re: Chest Pain

Do a search on costochondritis and see if the symptoms seem to be what you experience.
