Replacing Stents

I am posting this for a friend of mine. Her father's stents are 12 years old and the doctor is worried that they may fail soon. When he received the stents a blister formed and now a little flap falls over the stent and blocks it. The doctors are worried about cutting that skin flap off. Her father is considering entering a program with a new drug to try for this problem. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks.

Re: Replacing Stents

If it were me I'd go to a different doctor and make sure the stent is opened mechanically. If a "skin flap" is causing some blockage than no amount of drugging is going to remove it.
