Hi -

I understand that being out in the cold can trigger angina. But has anyone ever heard of angina being triggered by holding cold things? Whenever I handle something very cold (for instance, when I'm cooking with half-frozen meat), within 15-20 seconds of holding it, I experince a tight, burning, all-encompassing pain in my chest. I cannot pinpoint where the pain is because it fills the entire center and upper area of my chest. The pain is so intense that I always end up leaning over in pain. The pain gradually fades when I put down the cold item. This doesn't happen with moderately cold items; it only happens with items that are frozen and/or near frozen.

Anyone have any thoughts? I haven't found any information on-line about this other than a few sites I've found related to the cold pressor test...which seems more related to research about blood pressure issues, not so much angina issues.
