i went to the cardiologist yesterday. i have cad and i have 60 percent blockage on 2 of my arteries.i have been getting hot real easy doing things. i changed a tire on the car i was real hot and my chest hurt.i am a 59 year old male. i went to cardiolgist listened to my heart and he sent me home. my choleterol is high and have been taking vytorin for that.i have a stress test scheduled for oct. and cholestrol test for next month. i am really stressed about how hot i get even on a cool day.i told him i work in shop with no air conditioning and dont think i can stand the heat. he told me just be careful and dont get too hot.i thought when i went to the card. he would put in a stent or have bypass surgery. he doesnt seemed too concerned. something is not right anybody got any ideas what i should do. i really worried i am going to have a heart attack. help me phil
Phil normally they will not do any intervention on a blocked artery until it gets to a certain percent. I believe that percent depends on where the blockage is located, but normally they won't intervene until about 70 to 75% blocked. They probably will treat you with meds until the problem gets worse. Hopefully with some life style changes and meds it won't get worse!
