Question The doc was quick

I really did not get a chance to talk to the doc but i had a EKG done and a chest x ray today. Both came back fine. Does that mean i am healthy or could the sharp pains be soemthing else.

Re: The doc was quick

Sharp chest pains are really nothing to worry about. In fact if you ask a cardiologist they will say 99% of the time it is not your heart. Its usually muscle/rib pain and sometimes even gas. It usually helps if I write down any questions before I see my doctor, they are so busy you have to pin them down for info. If you start develpoing anymore symptoms I would go back for sure, but as for sharp pains, you are 1 out of billions that get them.Goodluck and try not to worry yourself.

Re: The doc was quick

I don't know any of your history, but an EKG and a chest xray are not infallible tests just like a lot of other tests. I'm not saying that there is something wroing with your heart at all, but just be aware that if your symptoms continue don't just assume that the tests were right. I have yet to have an EKG or a chest xray show any problems at all and I've had a stent and heart bypass.

Re: The doc was quick

Ninelves is correct. The test itself is not infallible. Add to that an incorrect interpretation is very possible and probably the leading cause of a misdiagnosis.

The doc may have been quick because he is putting into context your general health and any other symptoms you may or may not experience.
