Metoprolol

Does anyone know if there are withdrawal effects of Metroprolol? I went to the doctor awhile back for a pounding heart beat and he said it was caffeine. He also put me on Metroprolol. My blood pressure was never really high. Well, this really fast heart beat has been keeping me awake (I posted this before) so I went to the doctor and he can't find anything wrong. My blood pressure at his office was 107/62 and my pulse was 58! He said to start taking half a pill of Metroprolol. I'm wondering if maybe weening off of it can make it beat like that too or can it be the medication itself doing it?

I'm so stressed over this......can someone help? It's very frustrating when the doctor can't figure it out.
