Is this skipping beats?

I posted a message ealier about my heart skipping beats. I do not feel anything in my chest. its like in my neck, and i have been feeling like a twitch there. when your heart skips a beat do you feel it in your neck? i have taken my pulse, and when i get that feeling it feels like my heart skipped a beat. does anyone think this is a sign of heart failure or an enlarged heart? i do have MVP. when i work out i tend to tire out easy, i have heard this is just a symptom of MVP. but it has got me worried. i am 25 years old. male..6'2 and 190 pounds. My BP is an average of about 115/76. does anyone think something is wrong? or is it just anxiety? thanks.

I would wonder if there was a blockage in your neck artery. Its worth looking into.

Re: Is this skipping beats?

Shawn,

I doubt there's anything to worry about. When your heart skips the occasional beat it is often interpreted in really weird ways. I get a bizarre hollow feeling in my chest that is positively other-worldly but my skipped beats are rare (maybe once a month) and if one or two pop up it's usually a sign that I've skipped my magnesium for a couple days.
I'm sure that the weird neck feeling is just something like that. The more deeply you look into how it feels the weirder it will seem...called hypervigilantism, or human nature!

Remember too, that your BP sensory mechanism is located in your neck's carotid artery.
