| | Athletes Heart?
Hi. My husband whos is 44 and seems to be in perfect shape had a routine EKG done today. The doctor told him that he wanted to send him to a cardiologist for further testing because according to the EKG he had a "hard heart"?? or maybe it was hard heartbeat. I dont know..anyway..my husband was a body builder over 13 years ago but since then just does normal exercise on treadmill or street running. He never smoked and doesnt drink. The only problem is, is that is body produces higher cholesterol than normal. He hasnt had any chest pains or any other symptoms. But he does have ALOT of stress due to his job. My question is...do athletes..or former athletes have a different heart rate or beat than people who aren't? Should I be concerned? I have recently had heart problems myself and am praying that my husband doesnt also. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!
