Hello
Does anybody know anything about atypical atrial flutter???
My 28 yr old boyfriend has been told this is most likely what is causing his episodes of rapid heartbeats. We have previously been told it was other things and I still don't think they're sure.
We were told before that it could be typical atrial flutter or an accessory pathway or AV nodal re-entrant tachycardia.
He recently underwent an EP study where they hoped to ablate the fault, unfortunately they couldn't get his heart started in an abnormal rythym (typical!) and wouldn't try the ablation.
He's been taken off his medication and they want to see ECG's of when he has these attacks.
We are very confused and worried, has anybody here had atypical atrial flutter or know any more about it. Or even know more about rapid heartbeats. I've tried searching on the internet but it's all a bit too technical for me.
Thanks
