Air Travel with PAT

I have PAT (Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia) and presently take Atenolol everyday.
On occasion when I have elevated heart rate I go to the Hospital and get an injection of Adenosine.
Recently. even though I'm taking Atenolol, I had to get a Hospital Adenosine treatment to calm things down. I have tried the usual self-help remedies, but they donít help much.
I plan to take a 10-hour airplane trip and I am concerned about having an episode of elevated heart rate while Iím in the air and having to wait several hours for medical treatment.
My questions are:
What do other folks do who have PAT and take long airplane flights?
Have you had an attack?
If so what have you done?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Kiliman

Re: Air Travel with PAT

I would check with your doctor first before you fly. He may prescribe something for you to take so you don't have an episode on the plane. I myself have some kind of paroxsymal tachycardia (maybe the same as you), but mine is anxiety related. Last time I flew my doctor prescribed a sedative and it kept me calm and my heart rate lower.
