Dr. didn't tell me ... borderline ECG
I just got my medical records from a hospital visit a few weeks ago. I went in with severe chest pain radiating to my back.

The Dr. told me all results were "normal," but suggested I stay overnight. I declined.

I find out today that the ECG says "borderline," with "borderline R wave progression." The Dr. never mentioned this or gave me a chance to discuss with him, since he said it was all "normal."

Is this something I should get checked out further? I haven't had serious trouble since that visit, but I'm not terribly active either (FYI -- not overweight, low cholesterol, 40-yr female).

Thanks for any guidance.

I couldn't find any info on what borderline means, but I did find this....


"Poor R wave progression is a finding on an EKG that can reflect either an artifact of the way that the EKG leads are placed or reflect a previous heart attack. However, your symptoms could still be from coronary artery disease; the only way to know for sure would be a cardiac catheterization. "


I don't know if that helps or not.
