Constant Chest Pain

I have had constant chest pain for about three weeks. My doc did ang EKG and since I had a nucclear stress test last August aand both were normal he said it was nothing to worry about probably just a pulled muscle. But I do worry. Any one else had this issue or can offer any advice.

THANKS

I have had the same problems and after numerous tests (ekgs, chest x-ray, stress echo, etc.) I was told I have costochondritis. It is a very severe case and scares me to death. My chest constantly aches and every once in a while I get sharp pains when I move a certain way. I have tried taking anti-inflammatorys and muscle relaxers and neither have helped much. This condition can last 3 months to a year from what I have been told or even become chronic. If your chest hurts when you press on it (especially between the ribs) then this is a pretty sure sign that you have this condition. You may want to have a Dr. confirm but I would look into this being a cause.

Re: Constant Chest Pain

THANKS

Do you know what tests (MRI, CT Scan, X-Ray, etc) may confirm this?

From what I've been told there are no tests for costochondritis. The sure sign is usually pain when you press on your sternum or ribs. Do you have any pain in these areas?

Re: Constant Chest Pain

I had the same problems (and still am infact) about 2 months ago. Doctor did 2 chest x-rays and found nothing - Normal heartbeat and all. He gave me some medicine and it went away for about 2 or 3 weeks. Now its back again - I have this along with anxiety problems so together they are not a great combonation. Sometimes i feel like im going to have a heart attack, but all i have to do to feel better is take my mind off of it. I wish i had a good releif tactic for Costo~ but I have yet to find one myself....Anyone have any Suggestions?

GL with it Elderpanther~!
