Hi I was put in the medication digoxin. 0.125mg. My pulse befor the medication was 52 and after was 135! My heart is pounding. I is really bothering me. My pulse keeps going up.

I would call your doctor, especially if your heart is beating over 100 bpm most of the time. If it's due to your medication, maybe he can prescribe something else.

Hello flowersrgreat,

Yes, I agree with Mrs PM, you should consult a doctor if your "resting" pulse is this high.If you had just run 100 metres flat out it would be quite normal. Why were you put on the digoxin ?I would be very interested to know, All the best, and please see a doctor.

I am on digoxin, .25mg. I have found that, if I eat or drink something with calcium (cheese, milk, mineral pill) within 2.5 hours of taking my digoxin (before or after), my heart will race and pound very hard for many hours. I don't take any other meds or vitamin/minerals within 2.5 hours of my digoxin.

Don't know if you'll react the same way, but I thought that I would post about my experience with digoxin.

Definitely consult your cardiologist.
