| Re: update on 10yr old son
Dear Crystal,
I'm sorry to hear that you and your son are going through this, there is nothing worse in the world, worrying about your child.........been there!!
My 12 yr old daughter has congenitial heart disease(3 open heart surgeries)
She also has 2nd-3rd degree heart block, with a strong possibility of getting a pacemaker down the road.Last year she was hospitalized for a week, complaining of dizziness, her HR was 35.I thought for sure she was going to get the pacemaker then.......but she didn't.
Anyway......she is a full functioning preteen with lots of attitude.Doc told us she has no restrictions, she is on no meds,..........but, I'm a worry wart..... so she does have some restrictions..... no contact sports.....she played soccer, volleyball, basketball and takes dance.I know boys are more into physical sports(have two boys).......I'm no doc but if they think his heart block is congenitial, and he has been doing sports ... well that will be up to the docs again.
AS far as the meds for his aspergers'.......well only the doctors can help you also.
I just wanted you to know that I can sympathize and that a child can live a "normal" life with heart block.
take care,
kelly
(i read your other post but wanted to write on your updated one)
