Sudden fast heartbeat when turned to my left side while sleeping? - Heart Disorders Message Board

Hi guys as i was sleeping last night and turned on my left side I could feel a Boom boom boom, I am not sure if it was my heart beating fast or it was that i had gas in that area, since it nly did it 3 times it was between the heart area and ribcage, I had to right away turn over to my right side, has this happened to anyone else?

I've experienced this too!

Sometimes when I shift from the right to left, I get palpitations. My heart speeds up, flutters, and feels like it skips beats. I get this both while sleeping or awake. I immediately have to change positions and it usually stops right away. I don't know what causes it, but it's scary.

That sudden Fast Heart beat could be Atrial Fibrillation. This condition is very serious because it can result in a Stroke. I suggest that you let your doctor know that it is happening as soon as possible.
I speak from experience because I suffer from Atrial Fibrillation.

Hi red how is Atrial Fibrillation diagnosed? what kind of tests i had a nuclear stress test about 8 months ago but it was normal?

i get this only when i get up from sleep really fast, like when i have to go to the bathroom and im half sleeping. speeds up then slows down after a minute of rest
