First off, I am pretty sure this isn't a problem, to a point that I argued with the nurses a bit about even being concerned. I have been running fevers for the past year. They seemed to coincide with my periods, and as I have many problems with endometriosis, and pelvic congestion, I figured it was just something that was normal for me. I have been feeling kind of crummy for a long time, but over the past couple of weeks, I ran a fever and it wouldn't go away. A bit of history here: I am 29 years old, married, with 2 children. I am very thin (but not unhealthily underweight).

I went to a walk-in clinic to complain about my fever (no other noticible symptoms) and they were very concerned about my rapid heart rate. They gave me antibiotics and referred me back to my family physician who I saw today. She was also very concerned about my rapid heart rate, and wants to make sure I do not have an infection in or around my heart. I have noticed a rapid heart rate recently, and have felt a little sick, but I really still don't think it is a problem. So I am to have an ECG soon (when they call me back) and also a cat scan of my pelvic/abdominal area to rule out other infections. All I know is that I have been running fevers, and they will be running test after test until an answer is found. I have had a bit of a nagging feeling lately -- for some reason I have felt a little concerned about my heart but figured I was just unnerved about feeling ill and didn't take it too seriously.

I don't have a perfect history health-wise. I had cancer when I was 15, but it was a soft-tissue tumor in my leg. The only problem I had was major infections after my surgery, and got sick alot the year after that due to a weakened immune system from my cancer surgery/complications. I had mono the same year that I discovered my cancer. But I haven't had any cancer since.

I guess I was just surprised by all this, but it kind of makes sense. I had some pelvic infections after a late miscarriage and had some recurrances of that over the past couple of years. I guess it could have resulted in infections elsewhere but I dont know. Anyone else deal with something like this? Like I said before, I doubt my heart is a problem, but the docs seem concerned. I have had palpitations in the past, but I know that is normal, I have expereinced them since I was 12, and I had major tests run before my cancer surgery, so I know I have no heart problems. I have had palpitations recently, but I believe they are normal for me. Also, running a fever can cause a high heart rate, so this is a case of the chicken or the egg. Anyone?
