PLease somebody tell me good things about it. Im so scared Im going to die. I have never been under any heavy drugs or had any procedure like this before. For some reason I am scared that the cocktail they give me will kill me. I know Im nuts but I just got off the phone with the doctor and he wants to admit me right away to get the ablation done.

Ablation is such a safe procedure. The risk of complications is less than 1% and the risk of death is even lower than that. It's extremely unlikely that anything bad will happen to you, and even more unlikely that you will die. Normally you aren't under heavy drugs during an ablation. You're not usually under general, you're usually just sedated, so that's something you shouldn't have to worry about.

Thank you for the reply. I panic pretty bad when it comes to things like that. I talked to the doctor today and they started me on toprol twice a day. He actually started me on 25mg a day 12.5 in the morning and the other half in the evening. So far so good. I have taken atenolol before and it made my pvc's worse. So I am praying this one will work.

I have not had an ablation done and will be getting one done asap after I have my baby. I have heard that they just sedate you yet you are still awake. So mostly you will get high and be aware of what is going on. I think you need to be somewhat aware so you can talk to the doctors. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

you dont have to be awake, i knew some people who just fell asleep....literally.
