chest pain and heaviness in shoulders and arms anyone?? - Heart Disorders Message Board

2 years ago my husband had a feeling of pressure in his upper arms and chest which lasted 3 or 4 mins.and afterwards his arms felt very weak like there were weights on them,for a short time.last week he had the same thing happen but more intense.we went to the hospital had ecg blood tests stomach injection,aspirin gtn, and was kept on a heart monitor overnight.the next day the same thing happened but not as intense,one doc said it could be angina but another one disagreed.he has to go back in 2 weeks to see the specialist,does anyone else have these symptoms and what were your diagnosis??

I suggest that he keep the appointment, but if he has that same feeling again he needs to go to the ER immediately.
Even if you have to go more than once, DO NOT ever feel foolish, and never feel like you are just wasting time or money. Remember, even with all the fancy new equipment that is out there, it is still not always easy to diagnose heart problems or heart attacks.
If those tests were foolproof they wouldn't be constantly trying to develop new ones. Plus, if one test was 100% accurate then why do they have to do so many different tests?

thanks for the reply,enie, we are going to the hospital tomorrow so i will keep you updated.actually when it happened a second time my husbannd would not go to the er as he felt it was a waste of time,as all the tests the night before were negative.i have shown him your post and he says he will go to the er if it happens again,thanks again.
