| Re: myocardial ischemia scared! "I am going to a cardiologist tuesday, my doc did a myoview persantine test and findings of myocardial ischemia(reversible) is what paper says and it has this in 4 regions of heart, apex, anteroapical, inferoapical, and, peria pical inferolateral."
Myocardial ischemia (REVERSIBLE) means there is insufficient blood flow to the heart during exertion due to blockages, but returns (reversible) to sufficient blood flow at rest.
The seriousness depends on the degree of blockage, location, and general health. There are 4 areas of ischemia and if not treated may cause heart muscle damage. Usually the remedy are stents to widen the narrow vessel or a bypass if stents aren't appropriate. If the vessel is blocked less than 70% medication may be appropriate.
