what do you think

Hi. Ive been wondering, if this could be vascular, or heart related. Or both. My symptoms are: Laying down from a standing position quickly, tightness in chest. Have to sit up a few minutes to adjust before I can lay down. Occasionally in the morning my lungs hurt and cant take deep breaths, I have to work up slowly and it makes me cough, but then I can breath deep and it doesnt hurt (heart or allergy?) I had an echocardiogram at the va with no followup or even talked to a heart specialist there, but my medical records said I had mild left ventrical regurgitation. Do occasionally have POTS symptoms which make it seem like a vascular thing at times. Also, on an (ekg?) I had an extra line shoot up with each beat that is not supposed to be there. My medical records said ischemia, but I dont understand what that is, nor am I sure I believe it, because this doctor had said extra things that were not true to validate some trial medications for CFIDS. He is very old and getting forgetful, too. So what do you all make of these findings? The lung thing on occasional mornings is a mystery, as well as the pressure in my chest upon laying down suddenly. btw, what is ischemia anyway?

Re: what do you think

Hi Winnieie,

Ischemia is by difinition lack of blood blow usually due to some blockage of the heart's arteries. Almost always there is chest pain (angina).

An extra line shoots up with each beat during an EKG is unclear. There are many leads and the output is going to be different from each location. If there is a consistant spike from each lead, the equipment may be malfuncitioning! To answer the question you pose, it would be helpful to know which lead and whether it preceeds or follows the QRS wave.

Mild regurgitation of left ventricle is not considered serious, but should be followed and monitored periodically. When mild, there won't be any symptoms.

Just curious, what did the doctor say the connections was with ischemia and CFIDS? What was the trial medication for CFIDS and ischemia? What did he say that was not true?

Re: what do you think

IT was valtrex antiviral. Back then, there was no extra line shoot up, but it was consistant, and consistant at the va.

Re: what do you think

said I had hypogammaglobulin, to try gamma globulin shots. My IGG was just fine, even above the center of the normal readings. But maybe since the IMG was above normal, the IGG wasnt doing enoug to take it down?
