I wonder about the merit of these treatments. I know of course workbea is recommending them, but has anyone else taken a consultation with Dr Wayne? Without reading all that is on the website, he does seem be to a well-credentialed cardio specialist, recognised in his profession, and his notes are extensively referenced. Also several papers I have seen do say that for many ischaemia sufferers there is little to recommend invasive treatment over non-invasive provided direct surgical intervention or stent inplanting is not absolutely necessary.
On the other hand, I wonder too if the "Noninvasive Center" is a bit too invasive on the poor sufferer's hip pocket. Workbea has not mentioned the testing and consulation fees charged except to say it's a lot cheaper than stent implantation. That's to be expected.
Personally, I find there is a lot of confusion amongst many specialists and GPs about exactly what course of action is best, and what medication, or combination of medications, works best for the patient. With my own GP and cardio specialist I can almost choose my own medication - and that's a worry.
In fact the medication and dosage I am using now is basically what I have chosen. Now I want to change it and explore some other options.
There must be some consensus surely. I notice workbea has described what he is using and in the absence on any other treatment I am very tempted to try that for a few months.
It would be interesting to have a table where everyone could state their basic illnesses and list their medications - maybe that would be taking it too far - I just don't know.
Are we all just guinea pigs I wonder?
