Sharp chest pain - Heart Disorders Message Board

Recently I've been getting sharp chest pains in the upper middle part of my chest. They're slightly to the left. It only lasts for a few seconds. I've also been getting very lightheaded and a bit dizzy. I don't know if they're related. Does anyone know what this could be?

Does the pain occur when you are performing certain activities or at various times? Do you get sudden onset of chest pain that is always accompanied by lightheadedness and dizziness or do the two sets of symptoms appear independently? Have you been under a lot of stress lately, or had an injury to your left chest? The symptoms may or may not be related but without more information it is hard to tell.

As cbass said a little more information is needed about you.The info you gave was very vague to us although I'm sure you understand it well. For instance about what age are you, do you see a regular doctor or discussed this with one; if so what have they told you, have there been any major changes/ events in your life,are you otherwise healthy,did you recently take a new med.,do you have a family history of heart problems and the same questions as cbass? It is possible they could be related! But it could be stress, anxiety, heart related, or as a result of an injury and so on. Please let us know more. Definetly see a doctor if you haven't already!!!
