lOST MY SENSE OF TASTE AFTER SURGERY

I had open heart 80 days ago. Lost my sense of taste. Anybody out there have the same problem after surgery? Will it come back? How long did it take for you?

Re: lOST MY SENSE OF TASTE AFTER SURGERY

No throat problem that I know of before or after surgery. Had a throat tube, but I don't think it was in for any period of time after surgery. Doctor told me that loss of taste was not unusual, but no information on the lenght of the problem.

Re: lOST MY SENSE OF TASTE AFTER SURGERY

I didn't have any problems, I just didn't want to eat for a long long time; but my husband lost his sense of taste for a couple of months, (especially sugar). His taste came back slowly but it is just fine now. The Doctor said it was normal.
