Wondering about a diagnosis with Pulse?

I have been hearing my pulse in my ears for over 6 months now.At first I was terrified and worried.I went to a gp and she said it probably had something to do with my ears..My heart seemed strong and my lungs clear and I didn't have any other symptoms..of anything that would lead her to believe there was anything wrong.I ask for test and she said you are wasting your money there is no test needed..I then went to an ent that checked everything. He is also a vascuar specialist and he said other than having TMJ and also loss of weight causing a loss of padding around the ear drum there was nothing wrong with me..The condition I just described is called..Patulous Eustachian tube.I ask him for test again he said that it was a waste of money that there was nothing wrong with me other than weight loss and a little depression..Post tramatic stress..They put me on zoloft...But.. since the diagnosis I am not hearing the pulse in my ears I am hearing what it seems to be coming from the back of my neck ..Possibly the main artery into the brain.I have a friend that is a nurse of over 30 years ..head nurse at a hospital here..she says she would stake her reputation on there not being anything wrong with me..She said alot of people hear their pulse..Thats three medical professionals telling me thath there is nothing wrong..Ok..Maybe not..But I don't believe that was a loss of padding around the ear drum..Maybe its a loss of padding around the back of the neck causing the hearing of the pulse .I have read where some people heard their pulses for years..Its annoying but not fatal. One man even said he had heard his for over 30 years and wanted to know if i was thin.Well I am now.. I lost about 40 pounds in five months.. just cutting back on diet and still eat well just not as much and no snacks..so im confused..We live in a small community in a remote place so its not like I can go doctor shopping...I don't know what to believe ..Hopefully they are correct and its nothing fatal..If you read this and have some thoughts please share them..

Re: Wondering about a diagnosis with Pulse?

I and other members of my familey can hear our pulse in our ears when we are laying on it, somtimes i can hear mine at other times. I have never thought about anything being wrong. And i am being treated for an chronic infection and have had alot of tests done on my heart and it always looks good. I am not thin, my resting heart rate is 70-80 and i have low blood pressure not to low but at the bottom of the scale.
