CoReg is a nonselective beta-adrenergic blocker and is ordered to treat left ventricular dysfunction following an MI.
The most common adverse reactions are hypotension, bradycardia which is what you experienced. You should be monitoring your BP/
PR while taking this drug so, I would suggest that you purchase a digital BP machine and take your blood pressure/pulse rate twice a day before taking your BP meds which include the CoReg. You should bring your documented readouts to your next MD appt. You should make another appt. with your primary MD and request his office contact your cardiologist for a followup appt. if you are having problems rescheduling. It is important at this time, that you are following up with a physician even if it is with your primary doctor.
You should be monitoring your blood sugar closely because CoReg can mask the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia in people who are taking insulin or oral antidiabetes medications. Your doctor needs to monitor your liver and kidney function while on these meds.
You should be weighing yourself daily to monitor for fluid retention. Report unexplained weight gain or shortness of breath to your doctor.
