did anyone else read or hear about a new study that looks at statins and parkinson's? If I remember correctly, the researchers found a higher incidence of parkinson's disease associated with low LDL cholesterol.

Rather the other way 'round. They examined Parkinson's patients and found they had lower cholesterol.

Those on statins actually tended to have LESS Parkinson's Disease.

I think it was an interesting anomaly but really didn't signify much...several progressive diseases of aging show lowered serum cholesterol, most notably terminal cancer.
