MVP? Or something else? - Heart Disorders Message Board

Everytime I go to my primary care physician she tells me I have MVP. However, I have had 4 echos and it has never been detected. She has me lay down and turn my head and she says she can "see" it in my neck. Does anyone happen to know what exactly she is seeing? I told my cardiologist a while back what she said and he said if I had MVP the echo would have picked it up. I believe him. But my PCP still worries me. She is obviously seeing something and it scares me since I'm convinced there is something wrong with my heart. She also tells me that is why I'm dizzy, even though the dizziness (well, it is really lightheadedness) started before this stupid heart stuff did. My heart pounds so hard most of the time that I can see my pulses in my neck and wrist and my shirt and even my hair moves! Yet they keep telling me I'm fine. Lovely!

I'd love to know what she's seeing too! Wonder what she's going by? I would trust the cardio though.

Mvp,can cause a vein in neck to be prominent. Its possible she is right,but echo isnt catching it yet.
I would stay on top of this, I had mvp, and now have an artificial valve...

Would it really cause the vein to be more prominent and not show up on an echo? Great, now I have something else to worry about. It would be nice to know what is causing my symptoms, but I certainly don't want to have to undergo valve replacement! Thanks for your post. I will definitely talk to my cardiologist about it again. (I'm sure I'll worry about it until then too!)
