Unhappy Abnormal stress test!

I just found out I had a abnormal stress test and they told me I have a blockage. They told me they want me to come in for further testing. I have no idea how much of a blockage and I am freaking out! I am only 37 years old. I was sent for a stress test because I felt like my heart was skipping a beat or double beating. I go in tomorrow tofind out what other tests they want me to do.

What can I expect???

Re: Abnormal stress test!

Do you know what was abnormal? Was it something they noticed during the treadmill test or was this after you got the nuclear test report?

Re: Abnormal stress test!

It depends on what kind of blockage they are talking about. If could be a blocked artery which would have presented most likely with pain or shortness of breath during the stress test or it could be a bundle branch blockage in which the electrical signal that fires your heart beat via either your right or left bundle branch has a blockage which would have presented itself in a change in your EKG during the stress test. The latter sounds worse than it is, right bundle branch blockages are fairly common (I have one) and normal do not require treatment. If they suspect a blockage in an artery you will most likely need to have a cath so they can go in and look at the condition of your artery. If you had your stress test in a hospital, they normally they would not wait to do that.

Good Luck!

Tony
