Strong "palpitation" in upper abdomen

Just a couple of weeks ago, I've started feeling a very forceful palpitation which occurrs at the top/center of my abdomen. Too low to be a PVC, I think ?

It feels different than anything I've experienced, and takes my breath away a bit. Almost feels like someone is pressing on that spot. Just below bottom of my breastbone, I'd say.

I've had daily PACs & PACs for over 2 years now. I can differentiate them because I feel them so clearly. But this new one is different.

Seeing my cardiologist on Tuesday for my regular check-in.. wondering if anyone has any info/experience?

Thanks & have a great weekend, everyone.

i had a similar sensation, and went to tje gp, it was there that they told me i had a heart murmer, had an echo and it showed that i had a regurgitating aorta, and that was why i could feel the sensation in my upper stomach area. good luck with the cardioligist.

Re: Strong "palpitation" in upper abdomen

Hi,

I have those sorts of sensations, too. And as the years go by, the PVCs seem to move !!! Am menopausal now and that has triggered a whole new ball game, with hot flushes etc. Pretty miserable at times; I dont think you have anything to worry about, but its good that you are seeing the cardiologist to reassure you.

Good luck and best wishes.

Julie.

wow I get the same sensation at times, regurgitating aorta? can anything come from this any problems and such. How did they treat it? I get a feeling of a muscle spasm right at the base of my breast bone, in the soft part of my stomach, it feels like its one of my abdominal muscles going into spasm.

Re: Strong "palpitation" in upper abdomen

Hey again,
Was at the specialist on friday. He wants to do an ablation where they go in through the leg and up to the heart. They then agitate the heart to see if they can recreate symptoms and see if a nerve in the heart is misfiring. They then burn of the nerve appartently. Sound like a lovely experience but if it helps I dont care. Has this been suggested to anyone else??
