i see alot of people advocating different diets but not to many blood results.i have high cholesterol,tc..275,ldl..195,hdl..44,tri g...150.i went for aheart ct scan...136,starting of plaque they say.im 41,with a strong family history,nonsmoker, good pressure,overweight.started being semi vegrtarian,no white flour,fiberand fish though.would love to hear from anyone in similar situation,or great blood results from a peticular diet.

HI, I am doing the ornish diet, I have just started about two weeks ago, I am eating 17 or less grams of fat a day, and 6 or less sat fat. My heart took off one day, so I went to a cardiologist, he found nothing with my heart, but found that my neck had some blockage, they wanted to do an angio, I got a second opinion which is just the oppsite of what their's was. Today I am going for a MRA. I wonder about the CT scan. My total Chol was 283, my tri 160 and I cannot remember, but I no that my good chol had drop to in the 40"s . I will keep you posted on how my CHol levels change or not. I will have a chol test in two weeks. I have a long history of heart diease in my family I did smoke, I quit 5 years ago. I am only 103 pounds, and have lost weight already in less than two weeks on the ornish reversal diet. I am also now taking an aspirin a day and lipitor 10mg.
