why would heart rate increase for no reason at all?

why would heart rate increase for no reason at all? I was sitting listening to some music when my heart rate increased 10 fold. My breathing rate was fine and I wasn't under any stress. It slowed down about 15 minutes later

Because the electrical signals have messed up. This is I beleive atrial fibrillation. You need to talk to your doctor.

Little One,
Did it increase 10 fold or 10 beat per minute faster?
Normally heart rate is not important and can move around a lot. But certainly not 10 times.
If it was 10 fold for no reason then get it checked as Terra suggests.
