| PVC's & Confused
I am 43 year old male. BenignBenign ear cyst or tumor
Benign positional vertigo pvc's since 1992 occuring extremely infrequent for the past 25 years until Nov. 2007 when I had felt quite a few one day then got put on 24hr holterHolter monitor (24h) which revealed 540 episodes of 220pac's and 320 pvc's. Alot more than just few I had felt in the past 25 years. Anyhow cardiologist seemed unfazed by them especially after also having echo, cardiolite stress
etc...All looked very normal. Jan 08 & Feb 08 felt pretty normal with occasional pvc's every other day...UNTIL last week when they came BIG again...Had them all day and night. Called arrhythmia center here in Boston. HolterHolter monitor (24h) .Ironically I felt and wrote down in my log the 20 or so episodes I felt (flutters)...Funny how the prior day I felt a bunch but when I put on holterHolter monitor (24h) they somewhat dissapeared...Sigh !!! Anyhow I just had my cardiologist read the holterHolter monitor (24h) ..Told me looked fine...nothing at all to worry about !!! I said "great" figuring I only had 20 or so episodes...He replied and said " well, you had 1600 or so"...I nearly flipped off my chair....1600 ? WOW ...I only felt about 20 !!! Anyhow....He told me I had 2 options...And only because I told him that these episodes were starting to ruin my
state of mind....He said :
1) I can give you Norpace CR 150mg bid
or
2) Ablation....
After reading the rx on Norpace CR i was shocked because it states only to be used for people with serious vent. arrhythmia. And ablation ? Isin't that for people with serious last choice issues ? I am really confused and would like some insight if at all possible...
Thanks,
Andrew
