Hi,
I have never heard of taking magnesium for heart palpitations. I have a history of angina and palpitations. I was put on beta blockers for awhile and then was given nitro tablets to take when needed. Could you tell me what magnesium does for it? Also I was just diagnosed with high cholesterol-am checking into meds for that.

Magnesium has been shown to help with irregular heartbeat. Also low serum magnesium has been implicated in several medical conditions including CHF and Heart Disease. When my hubby had his heart attacks he was always given IV's with magnesium and other meds along with it.
Forgot this: you can also overdo it with magnesium and when you do it causes palps, try cutting the dose in half, I understand you need just a little mag everyday.
