Post What would these tests miss?

I've had a echo stress test & EKG. They found PVC's and slight left axis deviation. I was told that in spite of those things the tests were considered normal.

I'm still having chest pains, like a heavy cramp above my left breast. *****Would the tests they have already done allowed them to rule out an value disorders or pulmonary hypertension? *****Or should I push for more tests. I have great blood pressure and no cholestoral issues and no risk factors so my doctor is thinking it's not heart related.

I'm a 39 year old female.

Hi Mite:
The echo would probably have detected any valve disorders. I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time!), but pulmonary hypertension is usually accompanied by right axis deviation (not left). Also, the stress echo would have detected increased pulmonary pressure. I read that LAD can be caused by PVCs coming from the right ventricle, so this may be the source of your LAD. If the PVCs are frequent and bothersome, you might discuss additional testing with your doctor to determine what is causing the PVCs. I'm not sure why you are having chest pains with the information you've provided, so can't offer any suggestions. I hope the previous information is helpful though.
