Do I go back?
I am male 32, 6' 185 lbs. generally healthy and very active.
I have a BAD family history for heart failure. Grandpa (37) uncle (49) have died from massive heart failure. Two uncles on the heart transplant list currently both have enlarged hearts and pace makers. Two uncles have had bypass surgery, and they are doing well years later. All on mothers side. Because of this I get check every 3 years by specialists. They do stress tests, blood workups, pressure, cholesterol and tell me everythings great come back in 3 years.
Since high school 15 years ago, I have had episodes where my chest felt tight, difficulty breathing, very rapid heartbeat, or increadibly strong heartbeat where it feels like the heart is going to punch through your ribs (these are scary).
Over the past three weeks I have been experiencing chest tightness and shortness of breath for 4-8 hours each day. Nothing too painful, but enough to get your attention. Sometimes I feel like my heart is "leaking", my wife thinks I'm nuts! I have had these things off & on for years and they NEVER find anything. Do I go back to the cardiologist? If I do should I ask for a specific test or tests? Or should I just wait until next winter for my three year turn? Are these syptomatic of something specific?
The stress test is pointless, because I feel BEST when working out or playing sports. Most of my pain is while relaxing.
Advice appreciated!
(I have added a few things to make myself clearer! Thank you!)
