| | Just got out of Cardiac ICU
I have an underactive Thyroid gland, and the meds have currently made it as though it is overactive. For anyone who is familiar, the TSH is at 0.11. Thyroid, of course can effect the heart.
I've been feeling dizzy (like the room moves a bit), and my BP is usually (with the small dose of Diovan I take) normal at 120/80. At the Endocrinologist's office Thursday, my BP spiked up to 168/120, so she admitted me to the ICU. The BP wend back down to 120/80 after a few hours, without any additional meds or treatment. There was one other spike Friday, that wend down in an hour or so.
I did not see a Cardiologist, but they did do an EKG, and monitored me constantly. I don't think there were any rythm issues, or elevated heart rate. Cardiac enzimes were negative. BP was fine, except for the two spikes.
So, now I'm home, and have some constant, low grade dull chest pain, and of course the dizziness.
I'm planning to talk to my GP Monday to see where we go from here. Does anyone think this sounds really urgent, like I should go the ER, rather than wait?
