I take my toprol in the morning. My doctor first told me to take it at bedtime but when I started I was too nervous to take something for my heart and then lay down and fall asleep. I told him that so he said well go ahead and take it in the morning. My heart rate is usually fast in the morning but I feel sooooooo slow at night. Am I taking it at the wrong time? When does everyone else take theirs?
I'm with you.
It makes more sense to have the most effect when you are active during the day.
But then there is the opposing argument that most coronary "events" happen first thing in the morning...so a nighttime dose has your BP low first thing in the AM....maybe a 3AM dose might be perfect !
I take mine in the morning and it works out great for me. I take 25mg which is a small dose, but in the morning while still in bed my body will remind me that I need to take it. I have an uneasy feeling in my chest and pain in my left shoulder and left side chest. Once I take it in the morning I'm fine for the rest of the day and evening.
