Question about diagnosing MVP

On Tuesday, I will have an echo to check why I was having heart palpitations/heart pounding.

My question is this - I went to two different doctors with this issue and was actually still experiencing the pounding heart feeling while being examined by the two different doctors. If my palpitations were being caused by MVP and I was experiencing those symptoms right there with the doctor, wouldn't one of them have picked up the murmur with their stethoscope?

Re: Question about diagnosing MVP

MVP is not a mumor i dont think
Mvp is mitrovalve prolasp
murror is a whole in the heart
yes they could hear a mumor but prb not a mitro valve problem
MVP should show up on a echo

No. It often times can be heard with a stethoscope. During my reading and researching of MVP, that is how it is usually, initially found - with a stethascope. Then further testing will confirm MVP. A heart murmur is what is heard, further testing will tell what is causing the murmur.

That is why I'm asking - here. I was wondering if those who have MVP, if their doctor can hear it when listening through a stethoscope. And since I was having the heart sensations while the doctor was listening with a stethoscope would it have been likely that the doctor would have heard it if I had one?

I had an ECG done on both occasions. And they gave me an RX for Xanex until we find out what, if anything, is causing the palpitations. ECG was fine. Heart sounded fine.

So that's why I was curious. If this was caused by MVP, I would assume one of the doctors would have heard something upon examination.
